Dayong REN (1979 -), doctoral supervisor, science & technology commissioner of Jilin Province, leader of food quality and safety innovation team of Jilin Agricultural University, the first batch of young top talents of JLAU, and chief scientist of THANKCOME Biotechnology (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. Dr Ren studied in the Department of food engineering of Shaanxi Normal University in 1998, got master's degree in Jinan University in 2002, mainly engaged in the research of animal derived food safety; In 2005, Dr Ren studied food toxicology in Bethune Medical Department of Jilin University, and got phD in Jilin University, mainly engaged in the research on probiotics and natural immunity. From 2017 to 2018, Dr Ren did research work at the University of Alberta as a visiting scholar, mainly engaged in intestinal microbiome research. At present, he is mainly engaged in the research on the development and utilization of probiotic resources, the function and safety evaluation of probiotics, and has made remarkable achievements in glucose and lipid metabolism, immune regulation and intestinal microorganisms. Presided over 2 National Natural Science Foundation projects, 5 provincial projects and 3 horizontal projects. Dr Ren has published more than 50 academic papers as the first or corresponding author, including 20 SCI and 6 EI papers. Dr Ren has edited three textbooks, won one personal honor in the science popularization publicity activities of the Ministry of science and technology of China, won various provincial science and technology awards for 5 times.
