Guangxun MENG obtained his Ph.D from the Technical University of Munich in Germany in 2004. Afterwards he moved to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) at NIH in the United States and worked as a Post.Doc. fellow till 2010. Then he started to work as lab chief (PI) at the Institut Pasteur of Shanghai, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Guangxun Meng’s group mainly studies mucosal immunology and inflammasome for homeostasis and diseases in barrier organs including gut, lung and skin. The animal models he use include viral and bacterial infection, cancer and autoimmune diseases, through approaches such as genetics, biochemical, cell biology and molecular biology.
