Yanjie CHAO obtained his PhD from Humboldt University of Berlin in 2014, and completed postdoc trainings with Jörg Vogel at University of Wuerzburg in Germany and with Andrew Camilli at Tufts University/HHMI in USA between 2014-2020. He is interested in small RNA biology and bacterial RNA systems, and participated in the initial discovery of the CRISPR-Cas9 in bacteria. His research has been cited over 5000 times and highlighted in many journals and F1000. He serves as associate editor for BMC Genomics and reviewer for over 20 journals including NAR and mBio.
